Balwyn Alterations & Additions

This project was focused around retaining the original homes character and design language. With this in mind the original proportions were retained throughout the new additions. The re-use of all existing brickwork was an important aspect to retain character for the build and reduce the environmental impact of the construction process. Along with utilizing recycled materials were possible, the clients have managed to create a new home which sits more softly into the existing context. Complimenting the original homes aesthetic by incorporating some modern materials that have elevated the interior spaces, and created spaces that feel spacious, light and inviting.
